Pickering & Durham Region · Open 24 hours

The electrician Pickering keeps recommending.

Panels that ran out of room two renovations ago. A car charger that needs the service checked first. Pot lights with no attic above them. Voltline Electric has been solving these across the region for years — and every job ends with a certificate, not a shrug.

The team at Voltline Electric brought our vision to fruition and we are extremely pleased with the results. They showed up as promised and delivered beyond our exceptions. This included chandelier installation, programmable light switches, new smoke detectors, and an external cover. Dependable, reliable, trustworthy, plus local - a big WIN! Thanks the team for doing what you do best.

I can't say enough good things about Voltline Electric. From the very first day, they were friendly, professional, and showed up on time every single day. They rewired my finished basement and moved my electrical panel, and the quality of their work was outstanding. They took the time to explain everything, kept the work area clean, and made sure every detail was done properly. It's hard to find contractors who are this reliable and take such pride in their work. The whole experience was stress-free, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I would highly recommend Voltline Electric to anyone looking for honest, dependable, and top-quality electrical work. Thank you the electrician and your team for a job very well done!

The electrician was such a big help to us and I cannot recommend Voltline Electric more. He came out so quickly for an emergency call on a summer Friday evening when lightening struck a tree in our front yard and knocked out the power to our entire house. We needed someone to come out quickly. The electrician stayed with us the entire time, repaired the attachment point to the house and did a complete inspection to make sure all of the electrical was working properly. He was always honest, helpful, very knowledgeable and professional! I highly recommend Voltline Electric!

We recently had the electrical panels replaced at our duplex and were referred to the electrician for the job. He delivered excellent work at a very reasonable price, and we will hire him again for future projects. Highly recommended!

If you have a need to have electrical work done, Voltline Electric should be your go to. The electrician is personable, reliable and does excellent work. He was timely, took care of the required permit, utility crew work and the hydro inspection. I also found his fee very reasonable. I highly recommend Voltline Electric.

I highly recommend the electrician for his professionalism and the way he cares about his customers. I had a problem with my EV charger and he actually waited over 30 minutes to speak to customer service on my behalf. What a gentleman he is. If you are reading this review please do not hesitate to call the electrician for any electrical problems you have, you'll be taken good care of. Thanks the electrician

The crew

Who actually shows up

The quote and the work come from the same people. Here is who will be standing at your door, what they are licensed to do, and how they work once they are inside.

I’d rather spend ten minutes explaining what I found than hand you a bill you don’t understand.

You get the name and photo of the person coming, plus an arrival time — not a four-hour window.

02

Photo ID and a marked van

Every technician carries company photo ID and their licence number. Ask to see both at the door.

Boots off, sheets down

Shoe covers, drop sheets, and a vacuum before we leave. The room looks like we were never in it.

Whoever quotes the job does the job and signs the ESA certificate. No subcontracted handoffs.

Questions

Asked before every job

If yours isn’t here, the answer is one phone call away.

Do I need a permit for electrical work?

Some jobs, yes. In Ontario, work like panel and service changes requires a notification filed with the Electrical Safety Authority followed by an inspection. Smaller work such as swapping a fixture or adding a dimmer usually does not. We tell you which category your job falls into before we start — and where a notification is needed, we file it.

Can my existing service handle an EV charger?

That is exactly the question to ask first, and it needs a load calculation rather than a guess. A Level 2 charger is a large continuous load, and plenty of houses on a 100A service can still take one once the actual demand is worked out — while others genuinely need a service upgrade first. We check before quoting the charger, not after, so the number you get is the real one.

Can I get pot lights if there is no attic above the ceiling?

Yes. Retrofit housings are made for exactly that situation and go in through a small opening in the finished ceiling. It takes more planning and more care with the drywall, but a finished ceiling is not a reason to go without.

Will my new dimmer work with LED bulbs?

Only if they are matched. A lot of flicker and buzz comes from an old dimmer left in place behind new LED bulbs. We pair the dimmer to the fixtures being installed, which is why the lights we put in do not hum.

Do you really answer the phone at night?

The line is listed as open 24 hours and that is what it means. For a genuine hazard — burning smell, sparking, a hot panel — call rather than fill in a form.

What should I do if I smell burning plastic near an outlet or panel?

Treat it as urgent. If it is safe to reach, switch off the breaker for that circuit — or the main — and call. Do not keep resetting a breaker that trips alongside a burning smell.

Do I get a price before the work starts?

Yes. You get a price for the job before it begins, and for troubleshooting you approve the repair price before the repair happens. Reasonable pricing is the single thing our Google reviewers mention most often — it comes up in 26 of the reviews — and that is the standard we are trying to keep.
